WOW! Just wow! The Twilight Wife is a fantastic read. Synopsis: “Thirty four year old marine biologist Kyra Winthrop remembers nothing of the diving accident that left her with a complex form of memory loss. With only brief flashes of the last few years of her life, her world has narrowed to a few close friendships on the Pacific Northwest island where she lives with her devoted husband, Jacob. But all is not what is seems, Kyra begins to have visions – or are they memories? – of a rocky marriage, broken promises and cryptic relationships with the island residents, whom she believes to be her friends. As Kyra races to uncover her past, the truth becomes a terrifying nightmare.”
I am in awe of the mind that can craft such a wickedly cunning story. The Twilight Wife is full of brilliant plot twists and rife with deception. I engaged with Kyra’s character immediately and struggled alongside her as she tried to recall who she was and what her life was like. Jacob was deceptively smooth and well written and initially I found myself feeling sorry for him as he attempted to help Kyra reacclimate herself to their marriage and their lives. I was slightly baffled by Linny’s attitude towards Kyra’s questions but all made sense in the end. And what an ending it was! This is a fast paced, suspenseful read that you will not want to put down. Five fantastic stars — absolutely brilliant!
